for life transformation in the hearts of individuals and culture.

In God's creation, life can easily be seen in a
natural eco-system -- processes working together to
sustain and nurture growth and life. People are similar
in that we are spiritual eco-systems where we engage
God thorough different "soul processes." This idea can
be explained and illustrated in many different ways. At
Mosaic, we use natural metaphors to help us see God at
work in us and creation.
Mission | Wind
Mission gives the "wind" or movement to our lives and
gives purpose and meaning to the other elements. We
derive our mission from the Great "Co-Mission" in
Matthew 28:18-20. We say it this way: Mosaic exists to
be a catalyst for life transformation.
Worship | Fire
As followers of Christ, we are to offer ourselves as
living sacrifices to God (Romans 12:1&2). Worship
is both an individual and corporate part of the
environment. We come out of this "fire" with a
heightened sense of intimacy with a God who is
passionate about us.
Community | Water
We were made for being in community with others. God,
in the Trinity, is community by nature. We are created
in His image and thus, designed for community. The New
Testament gives us a great metaphor in the ordinance of
baptism. As we are immersed in water, we can see the
picture of being immersed into the body of Christ, the
fellowship of believers.
Serve | Wood
Jesus tells us that He is the true vine and that we are
the branches. We can't do anything of lasting value
apart from Him. (John 15) As we find our place of
ministry, we can do something significant because we
are "grafted" into the Body of Christ. The Bible also
teaches that the Spirit of God has imparted certain
gifts to all Christ followers. Serving according to our
gifts gives the structure or wood of Mosaic's ministry.
Transformation |
Earth
Just as good soil produces life, we are created to
grow. God invites to embark on a journey of
transformation. Life is never meant to be stagnant.
Earth's part of the spiritual eco-system is to
reproduce life in us as individuals and on a communal
level. Mosaic seeks to see individuals transformed,
groups reproducing and new communities of faith planted
in all of the opportunities God allows.
